TEAM SAS CHARGE ANIMAL BEACH BALLS.

The Animal Beach balls Tour 2004 brought six days of action packed fun to the South West this summer. The three beach venues Newquay, Porthtowan, & Polzeath witnessed the cream of Britain's top surfers competing in the Carve shootouts and SAS Tag Team surf comps. As well as surfing, beach goers were treated to live music, mountain bike shows, Miss Reef UK contest, volleyball competitions & evening contest parties. SAS would like to thank the Animal Volleyball team who kindly donated their winnings!

The SAS Tag team provided an adrenaline packed nail biting team event to win the £800 first prize. The teams consisted of 2 open shortboarders, longboarder, and a women or a grom, each surfer had to catch two waves before running back to the confined pen at the top of the beach and swap rash vests with team mates in a limited time. TEAM SAS took all three event titles and donated half their winnings from each event back to SAS. ' Team SAS were victorious in all the tag team events as the surfers got extra motivation for battling for a good cause' Sam Bleakley Team SAS. The end of tour party took place at the K Festival on Curruan Farm, St.Minver, where the Fun Lovin' Criminals were the headline act alongside Gary Stringer (Reef) and a host of other bands.

The open & women's events were not held due to poor surf conditions so they pooled the prize money and ran a foamy tag team - winners were Team Red. Longboard : Sam Bleakley Groms : Reubyn Ash

SAS Tag Team 1st Team SAS - Lee Bartlett, Joss Ash, Sam Bleakely & Sarah Bentley

An overall ' Wavemasters Title' was also up for grabs for the best results from all three comp in the Open & Women's events. Josh Knowles was presented with the title and a Honda CRF 70 mini MX bike and Kay Holt women's winner won an Animal Beach Cruiser.
