SAS will again be hosting a stand at the Relentless Boardmasters in Newquay, between 4th – 8th August. We’ll be signing up newcomers to the campaign, distributing information about all our projects and generally flying the SAS banner at the biggest surf contest in the UK. Our presence there is very helpful in influencing new individuals who might not otherwise get to hear about our ongoing campaigns.

Come join ‘Motivocean’, SAS’s National Beach Clean & Beach Sports Tour!
This August, Surfers Against Sewage in association with the Quiksilver Foundation & myGames (powered by v), will be hitting the road with the biggest beach clean tour in its history. Since 1994, the volume of marine litter on UK beaches has increased by 146%* and SAS is helping combat this tide line of trash through its beach cleans and ongoing campaigns. ‘Motivocean’ is SAS’s most ambitious beach clean tour to date and will be calling in at over 20 major UK beaches and waterside locations across the nation, including:
Surfers Against Sewage’s (SAS) beach clean crew is joining forces with Barefoot Wines again this summer for the 3rd instalment of our popular ‘Barefoot Friendly’ beach clean tour. We’ll be visiting 5 beaches across England and Wales between 28th July and 1st August to make sure they are as clean as possible for all to enjoy.

Young people across the UK are being offered the chance of a lifetime, as the magic of the 2012 Olympics comes to town. Organisers from Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) are using the inspiration of the Olympic Games to encourage young people to share their time and talents and make a positive difference in their beach environment and community.

Aim:
Surfers Against Sewage is looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced individual with a campaigning (preferably environmental) & events background to develop SAS’s ‘Motivocean – 20th Anniversary Beach Clean Tour’. The successful candidate will also work on various campaigns, which feed directly and indirectly into the tour.

Clean water campaigners from Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) believe that the UK Government urgently needs a National Marine Litter Strategy to tackle the worsening crisis of litter in our oceans and across our beaches. Marine litter is maybe the most obvious of these, something we all see too much of, too often, when we visit the beach or take to the sea. Clean water campaigners Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) would like to thank all the volunteers for helping at The Big SAS Spring Beach Clean. Last Sunday, the 1st of March, over 80 people gave up their time to help out at The Big SAS Spring Beach Clean. As a result of all those great volunteers and their hard work, 103 bags of litter were collected and Porthtowan was visibly transformed from a beach littered with junk to a relatively clean beach.
