Motivocean Trash Mob for International Surfing Day

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) has been selected as the official UK environmental partner for International Surfing Day (ISD) 2011. On Sunday, June 19, thousands of people will celebrate International Surfing Day all around the world. As part of this celebration of surfing, waves, oceans and beaches, SAS will be hosting various activities at the Goldcoast Oceanfest Surf & Music Festival in North Devon, and via its network of Regional reps right across the UK. Motivocean Beach Clean Dates – Update

SAS is currently working with schools, universities, youth groups and other community partners to deliver Motivocean Beach Cleans right across the UK. SAS is particularly encouraging youth volunteering and promoting the link between coastal environmental protection and the sports that rely on a clean and protected coastal environment. SAS Alarmed As Blue Flag Rewrite The Rulebook Allowing Sewage Discharges

SAS are concerned to learn that Foundation of Environmental Education (FEE) is considering rewriting the rulebook to relax regulations on sewage discharges from Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs). Our directors are writing to the director of FEE calling for Blue Flag beach users to be protected from raw sewage discharges and we need you to do the same. Surfers Against Sewage Inspire Youth Volunteers to Take Environmental Action in Cornwall

Clean water campaigners Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) are joining forces with youth volunteers from the Mullion Community Centre, as part of the UK-wide ‘25th Hour’ social-legacy campaign to inspire more people to volunteer their time towards good causes and fight marine litter. Youth volunteers will be cleaning up marine litter from their beautiful local beach with SAS at Praa Sands on Sunday 7th November from 1.30pm with food at the Sandbar at 4pm.
