Beach cleans, secret gigs & campaign awareness!
SAS will again be hosting a stand at the Relentless Boardmasters in Newquay, between 4th – 8th August. We’ll be signing up newcomers to the campaign, distributing information about all our projects and generally flying the SAS banner at the biggest surf contest in the UK. Our presence there is very helpful in influencing new individuals who might not otherwise get to hear about our ongoing campaigns.
We’ll be engaging SAS supporters & visitors to the competition with a daily beach clean. These cleans are to highlight the growing issue of marine litter, and are organised alongside the commercial cleaning and recycling efforts the competition organisers have in place. We hope that by involving people in the cleans, they will learn a bit more about the sources and dangers of marine litter, and themselves take the time to get more involved in environmental campaigns from SAS and other sister organisations.
Beach Cleans
Wednesday & Thursday – 2pm – 3.30pm.
Friday, Midday – 1.30pm.
We have a limited number of exclusive passes for our top beach clean volunteers for a special VIP secret gig by one of the weekend’s top acts.
To take part please visit our stand at the competition!
The gig will take place at 4pm in the Relentless VIP area at the Watergate Bay site. Only beach cleaners with special wristbands will be allowed entry. Once the gig is over at 5.15pm, guests will be able to stay on to see the evening’s acts in the public area.
